{"id":7878,"date":"2017-11-02T07:17:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-02T07:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cricket.gr\/newsletter-of-international-schools-cricket-tournament-2018\/"},"modified":"2017-11-02T07:17:35","modified_gmt":"2017-11-02T07:17:35","slug":"newsletter-of-international-schools-cricket-tournament-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cricket.gr\/en\/newsletter-of-international-schools-cricket-tournament-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Newsletter of International Schools Cricket Tournament 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Newsletter of International Schools Cricket Tournament 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Welcome and introduction<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hellenic Cricket Federation (HCF) is pleased to invite schools groups\/ clubs\/teams, from across the globe, to take part in the <strong>INTERNATIONAL CRICKET SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT 2018<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong>Students\/Players must be between 14-17 years old<\/strong>. At the Tournament will participate up to ten teams\/school groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Format \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>T20 Tournament. One innings per side, each innings limited to a maximum of 20 overs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tournament\u00a0 entry<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each member of a team\/school will\u00a0 \u00a0pay the amount of the 200, 00 euros as an entry fee.\u00a0 Hellenic Cricket Federation will provide this minimum cost only for 18 persons per team\/school (15 players and three officials). The amount of 200 euros per person \u00a0includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7-night accommodation at a four-star Hotel (Ionian Park Hotel) in dbl\/twin or triple rooms with private facilities<\/li>\n<li>Breakfast and dinner at the hotel daily<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Transfers Airport (Port) \u2013 Hotel \u2013 Airport (Port)<\/li>\n<li>Transfers from the Hotel to the Venues and return<\/li>\n<li>Transfers for any scheduled event of the Tournament<\/li>\n<li>Gala Dinner on Saturday evening<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Trophies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Players date of birth<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All students\/players must have been born from <strong>1\/1\/2001-31\/12\/2004.<\/strong> Dates will be checked by the Tournament Referee at the Managers and Umpires meeting which will be held before the start of the tournament. <strong>Exceptionally at the tournament will be able to participate <u>up to three (3)<\/u> younger players. <\/strong>The teams who wish to use younger players must submit to the Hellenic Cricket Federation the Special Dispensation &#8211; Underage application form signed by the guardian of the player at <strong><u>least two (2) months<\/u><\/strong> before the start of the Tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tournament venue\/grounds <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tournament will be held on the beautiful island of Corfu. Corfu is one of the most cosmopolitan islands of Greece, located on the northern side of the Ionian Sea. Two to three grounds will be used for the Tournament. One is the Marina cricket ground which is 2km away from the hotel. The second is the Espianada square ground which is situated at Corfu town and 10km from the hotel. All grounds have artificial pitches. All teams will play in all grounds<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Dates<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The matches of the tournament will be held from Monday 25th till Saturday 30th of June.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Organizers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Host: Hellenic Cricket Federation (H. C. F)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Arrival and departure<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Teams should organize to arrive in Corfu <strong>on Sunday 24th of June<\/strong> and depart on <strong>Sunday 1st of July. <\/strong>Coaches will transport teams from the airport to the hotel. Transfer time to hotel from the airport is about \u00a030- 45 minutes respectively. \u00a0Flight details to be sent to the Tournament organizer at <a href=\"mailto:contact@cricket.gr\">contact@cricket.gr<\/a><u>.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tournament umpires and officials <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Every team is required to provide one umpire (with umpiring diploma if it is possible or cricketing experience) and one scorer (in a good level) who will participate to all the matches of the tournament<\/strong>. These two should be notified in the application form. Team officials will be fully responsible for the discipline of their team members during the event and period of stay. Participants are advised to ensure the safety of their belongings at all times.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Managers, coaches and captains meetings<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be a meeting of team officials chaired by the Tournament Referee, on the evening before the first day of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Accommodation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All the teams (players and officials will accommodate at Ionian Park Hotel (4 star Hotel). Accommodation is booked on a bed, breakfast and dinner basis. H.C. F will provide accommodation only with the entry fee\u00a0 \u00a0for 18 persons (15 student &amp; 3 officials).\u00a0 Any extras must be settled in cooperation with Hellenic Cricket Federation Office. It is essential that all schools\/teams inform the Tournament Organizer at <a href=\"mailto:contact@cricket.gr\">contact@cricket.gr<\/a> of any special dietary requirements<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Medical facilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be pharmacies boxes at all grounds. In case of emergency, there will be full cover from the national center of urgent need.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Gala dinner<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be a Gala Dinner on Saturday 30th of June. All teams may wear evenly shirts and trousers or blue jeans (or other uniform appearance) and the officials must wear a tie. The event must be attended by all participants.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Photo shooting<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be a photo shooting of all the participants of the tournament. The date and time will be set according to match schedule. Teams should be uniform dressed (with their playing clothes) and the officials must wear a tie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Awards<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u03a4\u03bf the winning team will be given trophy and medals.<\/li>\n<li>To the Runners-up will be given trophy and medals.<\/li>\n<li>To the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place will be given medals<\/li>\n<li>Player of the Tournament award<\/li>\n<li>Spirit of cricket team award<\/li>\n<li>In all participating teams will be given diplomas\/certifications.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong><u>Weather<\/u><\/strong> The weather in Corfu during June is 23\u00b0C (73\u00b0F), reaching a high around of 27\u00b0C (82\u00b0F) and a low of 17\u00b0C (64\u00b0F).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Finance<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To secure a place in the Tournament <strong>a deposit of 500 euros per school\/team is required<\/strong>. As per every year, H.C.F \u00a0\u00a0will run a strict \u201cfirst come first served\u201d policy. Schools or teams who wish to participate in the Tournament, \u00a0must submit the <strong>application form completed and make the deposit no later than 31\/1\/2018<\/strong>. \u00a0Participating schools\/teams must proceed to the deposit of the 30% of the cost the latest by<u> 30\/04\/2018<\/u>. Final payment to be made <u>by 30\/5\/2018<\/u>.
