{"id":7735,"date":"2016-11-11T06:40:16","date_gmt":"2016-11-11T06:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cricket.gr\/7th-international-schools-cricket-tournament-corfu-2017\/"},"modified":"2016-11-11T06:40:16","modified_gmt":"2016-11-11T06:40:16","slug":"7th-international-schools-cricket-tournament-corfu-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cricket.gr\/en\/7th-international-schools-cricket-tournament-corfu-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"7th International Schools Cricket Tournament, Corfu  2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION OF 7<sup>TH<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0 INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS CRICKET TOURNAMENT.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Corfu, Greece 18-23\/4\/2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hellenic Cricket Federation (H.C.F.) invites<\/strong> 12 school groups or teams from \u00a0\u00a0across the globe to participate to the <strong>7<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong><strong>INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS CRICKET TOURNAMENT<\/strong><strong> 2017<\/strong>. The tournament will be held in Corfu\/Greece on <strong>18-23 April 2017. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>H.C.F. offers for free for 18 persons (15 student &amp; 3 officials) per school or team:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>7 nights accommodation at Ionian Park Hotel \u00a0(in dbl\/twin or triple rooms with private facilities).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Breakfast and dinner at the hotel daily.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transfers Airport (Port) \u2013 Hotel \u2013 Airport (Port).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transfers from the Hotel to the Venues and return.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transfers for the opening ceremony and return.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Gala Dinner at the prize giving ceremony on Saturday evening.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>TOURNAMENT INFORMATION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Format:<\/u><\/strong> T20 Tournament. One innings per side, each innings limited to a maximum of 20 overs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Players date of birth:<\/u><\/strong> All students\/players must have been born from 1\/1\/2000 &#8211; 31\/12\/2003.\u00a0 Dates will be checked by the Tournament Referee at the Managers and Umpires meeting which will be held before the start of the tournament. <strong>Exceptionally at the tournament will be able to participate <u>up to three (3)<\/u> younger players. <\/strong>The teams who wish to use younger players must submit to the Hellenic Cricket Federation the Special Dispensation &#8211; Underage application form signed by the guardian of the player at <strong><u>least\u00a0 two (2) months<\/u><\/strong> before the start of the Tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tournament venues: <\/u><\/strong>Three grounds will be used for the Tournament. One is the Marina cricket ground which is very close to \u00a0\u00a0the hotel. The second is the Espianada square ground which is situated at Corfu town and 20km from the hotel. The third ground is \u00a0\u00a0the Messonghi Cricket Ground . All grounds have artificial pitches. All teams will play in all grounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Cricket balls:<\/u><\/strong> white \u00a0balls will be used for the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Clothing:<\/u><\/strong> The tournament will be played in colored uniform. Only rubber shoes are allowed during the match. (No spiked shoes).<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Arrival and departure:<\/u><\/strong> Teams should organize to <u>arrive in Corfu on \u00a0\u00a0Monday 17th<\/u> and <u>departure on 24\/4\/2017 <\/u>. H.C.F.&#8217;s coaches will transport teams from the airport to the hotel. Transfer time is about 30-45 minutes respectively. Flight details to be sent to the Tournament organizer at <a href=\"mailto:contact@cricket.gr\">contact@cricket.gr<\/a> <u>by 15\/2\/2017 latest.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Accommodation:<\/u><\/strong> All schools\/teams will be accommodated at the <strong>Ionian Park Hotel <\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Accommodation is been booked on a bed, breakfast and dinner basis. Hotel rooming list to be sent to the Tournament Organizer at <a href=\"mailto:contact@cricket.gr\">contact@cricket.gr<\/a> <u>by 31\/03\/2017 <\/u>\u00a0<u>latest.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Meals:<\/u><\/strong> Breakfast and dinner is provided in the hotel. It is essential that all schools\/teams inform the Tournament Organiser at <a href=\"mailto:contact@cricket.gr\">contact@cricket.gr<\/a> of any special dietary requirements <u>by 31\/3\/2017 \u00a0latest<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Team officials and participants:<\/u><\/strong> Team officials will be fully responsible for the discipline of their team members during the event and period of stay. Participants are advised to ensure the safety of their belongings at all times.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tournament Umpires and scorers:<\/u><\/strong> Every team is required to provide one umpire (with umpiring diploma if it is possible or cricketing experience) and one scorer (in a good level) who will participate to all the matches of the tournament. These two should be notified in the application form.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Manager and umpires meeting:<\/u><\/strong> There will be a meeting of team officials chaired by the Tournament Director, on the evening before the first day of the tournament.\u00a0 During the tournament team officials will have to attend meetings, whenever required.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Medical facilities:<\/u><\/strong> Medical boxes will be available at all venues. In case of an emergency there will be full cover from the National Centre of Urgent Needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Gala dinner dress code:<\/u><\/strong> Teams may wear team evenly shirts and trousers or blue jeans (or other uniform appearance) and the officials must wear tie. The event must be attended by all school groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Photo shooting: <\/u><\/strong>There will be a photo shooting of all the participants of the tournament. The date and time will be set according on match schedule. Teams should be uniform dressed (with their playing clothes) and the officials must wear tie.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Awards:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u03a4\u03bf the winning team will be given cup and medals.<\/li>\n<li>To the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> team will be given plaque and medals.<\/li>\n<li>Player of the Tournament<\/li>\n<li>Spirit of Cricket team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In all participant teams will be given diplomas.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Weather:<\/u><\/strong> The weather in Corfu during April \u00a0\u00a0is good and well suited to the playing conditions.
